Aradan ge\u00e7en s\u00fcre\u00e7te, \u00f6zellikle 2000\u2019li y\u0131llardaki geli\u015fmeler \u00fczerine, ortaya \u00e7\u0131kan siyasi bask\u0131lar ve Milli E\u011fitim bakanl\u0131\u011f\u0131 d\u00fczenlemelerindeki geli\u015fmelerle birlikte giderek daha \u00e7ok pondok sisteme adapte olmu\u015ftur. Yak\u0131n zamana kadar bakanl\u0131\u011fa kay\u0131tl\u0131 pondok say\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n \u00fc\u00e7 y\u00fcz\u00fc a\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131 ifade edilmektedir. Patani\u2019de pondok yap\u0131la\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 reforme etme d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesinden do\u011fmu\u015ftur.baz\u0131 pondok y\u00f6netimleri, maddi yard\u0131mlar kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131nda u yap\u0131la\u015fmay\u0131 kabul etmi\u015ftir. Yap\u0131sal d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015f\u00fcm ge\u00e7irmi\u015f olan bu pondoklar bu adla, yani \u00d6zel \u0130slami Okullar ad\u0131yla an\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. \u0130kili \u00f6\u011fretimin uyguland\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu okullarda, sabah Arap\u00e7a ve \u0130slami dersler, \u00f6\u011fleden sonra ise sek\u00fcler derslere ayr\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.
