Yani \u201cMalay D\u00fcnyas\u0131\u201d dendi\u011finde kuruma \u00f6nc\u00fcl\u00fck eden bireylerin teslimiyetiyle \u2018Kuala Lumpur\u2019 se\u00e7ilmi\u015f oldu. \u201cOsmanl\u0131 Ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131\u201d ba\u011flam\u0131na uygun olarak da ikinci mek\u00e2n \u0130stanbul oldu. Tabii buradan Malay d\u00fcnyas\u0131n\u0131 Kuala Lumpur\u2019daki ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar; Osmanl\u0131 d\u00fcnyas\u0131n\u0131 da \u0130stanbul\u2019daki ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar\u0131n ilgi ve s\u0131n\u0131rl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131na dahil edildi\u011fi \u015feklinde alg\u0131lanmamal\u0131. Bu anlam\u0131yla bile, kurumun en az\u0131ndan T\u00fcrkiye \u015fartlar\u0131nda bir ilke tekab\u00fcl etti\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcyorum. Bu ikili yap\u0131n\u0131n ortaya konmas\u0131nda belki \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma alan\u0131n\u0131n olduk\u00e7a geni\u015f bir tarihi s\u00fcrece ve de neredeyse sosyal bilimlerin her dal\u0131na ula\u015facak potansiyel zenginli\u011fi sahip olmas\u0131ndan kaynaklan\u0131yor olabilir.<\/p>\n<p>Merkez\u2019in ad\u0131na bakt\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131zda ilk etapta genel okuyucunun akl\u0131na do\u011fal olarak bug\u00fcn \u201cMalezya Federasyonu\u201d olarak bilinen \u00fclke akla geliyor ister istemez. Ancak \u2018Malay\u2019 ile \u2018Malezya\u2019\u00a0 aras\u0131ndaki ili\u015fkiye ra\u011fmen, \u2018Malay\u2019 kavram\u0131n hem co\u011frafi hem antropolojik olarak \u00e7ok daha geni\u015f s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131 i\u00e7ine al\u0131yor. Bu ba\u011flamda, \u2018Malay\u2019 kavram\u0131n\u0131n ortaya \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131nda \u0130ngiliz ve Hollandal\u0131 sosyal bilimcilerin kayda de\u011fer belirleyici rol\u00fc oynad\u0131lar. K\u0131sa bir literat\u00fcr taramas\u0131nda bunlara ula\u015fmak m\u00fcmk\u00fcn. Burada sadece bir \u00f6rne\u011fi zikretmekle yetinebilirim: Anthony Reid. (2001). \u201cUnderstanting Melayu (Malay) As A Source of Diverse Modern Identities\u201d, <em>Journal of Southeast Asian Studies<\/em>, 32 (3), s. 295-313. \u00d6te yandan, Tak\u0131madalar ve G\u00fcneydo\u011fu Asya\u2019da kimi b\u00f6lge halklar\u0131n\u0131n kendilerini \u2018Malay\u2019 olarak adland\u0131rma gibi bir \u00f6ncelikleri olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131, hatta bu kullanmad\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 dahi s\u00f6yleyebilirim. \u00d6rne\u011fin A\u00e7e halk\u0131 aras\u0131nda, Caval\u0131lar veya Papual\u0131lar aras\u0131nda \u2018biz Malay\u0131z\u2019 t\u00fcr\u00fcnden ne g\u00fcndelik ya\u015famda ne de politikas\u0131n\u0131, sosyal bilimini \u015fekillendiren \u00e7evrelerde \u2018Malay\u2019 kavram\u0131na at\u0131f bulmak g\u00fc\u00e7. \u00d6rne\u011fin A\u00e7e\u2019de, \u2018B\u00fcy\u00fck Malay Birli\u011fi\u2019 (Malaya Raya), -buna Pan-Malaya da diyebiliriz- d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesini eserlerinde i\u015flemi\u015f olan merhum Ali Ha\u015fimi gibi birka\u00e7 ki\u015fi d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda bunu duymak m\u00fcmk\u00fcn de\u011fil. \u2018Malay\u2019 milletini kategorikle\u015ftirmek suretiyle anla\u015f\u0131l\u0131rl\u0131\u011fa matuf k\u0131lmaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan 19. y\u00fczy\u0131l ve akabindeki Bat\u0131l\u0131 antropologlar ve tarih\u00e7iler olmu\u015ftur. Bu nokta bile, kendi ba\u015f\u0131na yeni kurulan merkez i\u00e7in kayda de\u011fer bir ara\u015ft\u0131rma alan\u0131 olarak ortada duruyor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeki bu kurum ni\u00e7in veya nas\u0131l g\u00fcndeme geldi?\u201d sorusunu sormak gerekir. Bu yaz\u0131 \u00e7er\u00e7evesinde T\u00fcrkler, kelimenin geni\u015f anlam\u0131yla Malaylar\u0131 ne zaman anlamaya ba\u015flad\u0131; ne zaman ile\u015fitim kurmaya ba\u015flad\u0131 tarz\u0131nda olduk\u00e7a geni\u015f konuyu da g\u00fcndeme ta\u015f\u0131mayaca\u011f\u0131m. Biraz daha g\u00fcncel, son d\u00f6nem ili\u015fkileri ba\u011flam\u0131nda g\u00f6zlemlerime dayanan baz\u0131 hususlar\u0131 payla\u015faca\u011f\u0131m.<\/p>\n<p>Bu s\u00fcre\u00e7te hi\u00e7 ku\u015fku yok ki, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de \u00f6ncelikle Malezya\u2019n\u0131n akabinde Malay d\u00fcnyas\u0131n\u0131n g\u00fcndeme geli\u015finin 1980\u2019lerin sonu, 1990\u2019lar boyunca baz\u0131 T\u00fcrk \u00f6\u011fretim \u00fcyelerinin 1980\u2019lerin ba\u015f\u0131nda Malezya\u2019da sekiz \u00fclkenin konsorsiyumuyla kurulan Uluslararas\u0131 \u0130slam \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nde ders vermelerinin ba\u015fat bir rol\u00fc var. Bu s\u00fcre\u00e7 bile kendi ba\u015f\u0131na bir akademik \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaya konu olacak imk\u00e2nlar\u0131 sunuyor. O d\u00f6nem kimler geldi\u011fine k\u0131saca bir bakal\u0131m.<\/p>\n<p>1990\u2019l\u0131 y\u0131llar, belki de T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin i\u00e7inde bulundu\u011fu ko\u015fullar\u0131n bir sonucu olarak baz\u0131 akademisyenlerin Malezya\u2019da faaliyet g\u00f6steren Malezya Uluslararas\u0131 \u0130slam \u00dcniversitesi\u2019ndeki \u00e7e\u015fitli fak\u00fcltelerde dersler vermeye ba\u015flad\u0131klar\u0131na tan\u0131k oldu. Bu \u00e7er\u00e7evede say\u0131s\u0131 yirmiyi bulan \u00f6\u011fretim \u00fcyesi, de\u011fi\u015fik y\u0131llar boyunca bu \u00fcniversitede kendi alanlar\u0131nda dersler verdi. Hocalar\u0131n b\u00fcy\u00fck bir b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc, 1989 y\u0131l\u0131ndan itibaren s\u00f6z konusu \u00fcniversitede dersler vermeye ba\u015flad\u0131. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Davuto\u011flu\u2019nun 1990 ve Prof. Dr. Alparslan A\u00e7\u0131kgen\u00e7\u2019in 1991\u2019de gelmesinin ard\u0131ndan say\u0131n\u0131n artt\u0131\u011f\u0131 g\u00f6zlenir. Y\u00d6K eski ba\u015fkan\u0131 Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ziya \u00d6zcan ise, 1992 de Kuala Lumpur\u2019dayd\u0131. 1991-1999 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131 Kuala Lumpur\u2019a gelip ders verenlerin say\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n 17 civar\u0131nda oldu\u011fu belirtiliyor. Bunlar\u0131n \u00f6nemli bir b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcn\u00fcn iki y\u0131l kal\u0131p d\u00f6nd\u00fckleri, ancak, uzun s\u00fcreli kal\u0131p \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131na devam edenlerin say\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n ise 7 il\u00e2 9 ki\u015fi oldu\u011fu ileri s\u00fcr\u00fcl\u00fcyor. Bu s\u00fcre\u00e7te kim en uzun surely kald\u0131 diye bir soru y\u00f6neltilecek olursa cevab\u0131m\u0131z, on yedi y\u0131l kal\u0131p, \u0130STAC\u2019da dersler veren Prof. Dr. Cemil Akdo\u011fan. Ard\u0131ndan Prof. Dr. Ali U\u011fur on y\u0131l; Prof. Dr. Alparslan A\u00e7\u0131kgen\u00e7 (1991-1999) ve Prof. Dr. Ahmed Davuto\u011flu (1990-1998) sekizer y\u0131l; Prof. Dr. Sabri Orman yedi y\u0131l; Prof. Dr. Mehmet Maksudo\u011flu be\u015f y\u0131l; Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kallek d\u00f6rt y\u0131l. Prof. Dr. Mehmet \u0130p\u015firli\u2019nin 2 y\u0131l kald\u0131\u011f\u0131, bununla birlikte d\u00f6rt y\u0131l \u00fcst \u00fcste birer d\u00f6nem Kuala Lumpur\u2019a gelerek dersler verdi\u011fi ifade edilir. Benzer \u015fekilde, Prof. Dr. Bilal Ku\u015fp\u0131nar \u00fc\u00e7 y\u0131l kalmakla birlikte, bir ka\u00e7 y\u0131l birer d\u00f6nem ders vermeye devam etti. Bu isimlere Prof. Dr. Teoman Durali\u2019yi de ekleyeyim. Dan\u0131\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131m k\u0131ymetli Hocam, Durali Bey\u2019i bir \u015fekilde unutmu\u015f olmal\u0131. Ancak bir ara A\u00e7e\u2019yle ilgili yaz\u0131lm\u0131\u015f an\u0131lar var m\u0131d\u0131r diye ara\u015ft\u0131r\u0131rken bir arkada\u015f\u0131n yard\u0131m\u0131yla Durali Bey\u2019in \u2018Sorun Nedir?\u2019 kitab\u0131na ula\u015fm\u0131\u015ft\u0131m. Bu vesileyle\u00a0 onu da bu mahallerde ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirdi\u011fi gezilerinde Batak\u2019\u0131ndan, Dayak\u2019\u0131na kar\u015f\u0131la\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u2018kelle avc\u0131lar\u0131na\u2019 de\u011findi\u011fi o g\u00fczel sat\u0131rlar\u0131 vesilesiyle hat\u0131rlatm\u0131\u015f olay\u0131m.<\/p>\n<p>Bu hocalar\u0131n ard\u0131ndan ikinci nesil diye adland\u0131rabilece\u011fimiz d\u00f6nem gelir. Bu \u00e7er\u00e7evede Avustralya\u2019da \u00f6\u011fretim g\u00f6revlisi olan Prof. Dr. Mehmed Mehdi \u0130lhan, Uluslararas\u0131 \u0130slam \u00dcniversitesi tarih b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcnde iki s\u00f6mestr ders verdi. Bu s\u00fcre\u00e7te, Do\u00e7. Dr. Serdar Demirel Hoca\u2019n\u0131n doktora \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131n akabinde ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve sekiz y\u0131l s\u00fcrd\u00fcrd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc \u00f6\u011fretim g\u00f6revlili\u011finin yan\u0131 s\u0131ra, bu \u00fcniversitenin misyonu olan \u2018uluslararas\u0131la\u015fma\u2019 s\u00fcrecine teknik katk\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 da hat\u0131rlatmak gerekir. Bu verileri, gene o d\u00f6nem Kuala Lumpur\u2019da bulunmu\u015f k\u0131ymetli bir hocam\u0131zla yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131m m\u00fcl\u00e2kattan edindi\u011fimi belirtmek isterim.<\/p>\n<p>Bu s\u00fcrecin do\u011fal bir yans\u0131mas\u0131 olarak k\u0131smen de olsa, entellekt\u00fcel etkile\u015fimin g\u00fcndeme ta\u015f\u0131nd\u0131\u011f\u0131na \u015fahit olduk. 1990\u2019l\u0131 y\u0131llar\u0131n ortalar\u0131na do\u011fru T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de, \u00f6zellikle yerel y\u00f6netimlerde g\u00fcndeme gelen de\u011fi\u015fimin bir vechesi, \u0130stanbul B\u00fcy\u00fck\u015fehir Belediyesi\u2019nin k\u00fclt\u00fcr i\u015flerince organize edilen entellekt\u00fcel-akademik toplant\u0131lar serisiyle kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 buluyordu. Bu \u00e7er\u00e7evede, o d\u00f6nem d\u00fcnyan\u0131n \u00e7e\u015fitli b\u00f6lgelerinden, farkl\u0131 \u00fcniversitelerinden M\u00fcsl\u00fcman entellekt\u00fcel ve akademisyenlerin daveti s\u00f6z konusu oluyordu. A\u00e7\u0131k\u00e7as\u0131 benim de \u015fahsen takip etmekten b\u00fcy\u00fck keyif ald\u0131\u011f\u0131m o g\u00fcnlerdeki toplant\u0131lardan birinde, Malezya\u2019n\u0131n son bir y\u00fczy\u0131lda yeti\u015ftirdi\u011fi en \u00f6nemli entellekt\u00fcel olarak adland\u0131rd\u0131\u011f\u0131m Prof. Dr. Seyid Nakip el-Attas\u2019\u0131n da davet edilmi\u015fti. O sunumda Prof. Dr. Alparsla A\u00e7\u0131kgen\u00e7 ve Prof. Dr. Teoman Durali de tart\u0131\u015fmac\u0131 olarak yer alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Bu \u00e7er\u00e7evede, Nakip el-Attas\u2019\u0131n baz\u0131 \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131n terc\u00fcmelerinin yap\u0131lmaya ba\u015fland\u0131. Ancak T\u00fcrk hocalar\u0131n Kuala Lumpur\u2019daki \u2018akademik yat\u0131r\u0131mlar\u0131\u2019n\u0131n kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131nda, ne Malezya\u2019dan ne de Malay d\u00fcnyas\u0131ndan hocalar\u0131n T\u00fcrkiye \u00fcniversitelerinde katk\u0131lar\u0131na bug\u00fcne kadar tan\u0131k olduk.<\/p>\n<p>Bir di\u011fer g\u00fcndeme getirilmesi gereken konu \u015fu. Yeni hayata ge\u00e7irilen bu merkezin, \u00f6\u011frenci ve dolay\u0131s\u0131yla ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131 kadrosunun nitelikli bir elemeye tabi tutulmas\u0131nda fayda var. \u00d6\u011frenci ve \u2018dolay\u0131s\u0131yla\u2019 ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131 dememin gayesi \u015fu ki, bu merkezde \u00f6\u011frenim g\u00f6recek y\u00fcksek lisans ve doktora \u00f6\u011frencilerinin iki \u00fc\u00e7 y\u0131l okuyup \u2018hadi bana Eyvallah\u2019 diyecek \u00f6\u011frenciler aras\u0131ndan se\u00e7ilmemesi gerekiyor. Aksine otuz y\u0131l\u0131n\u0131 k\u0131rk y\u0131l\u0131n\u0131, yani \u00f6mr\u00fcn\u00fc bu i\u015fe vakfedecek, azimli, kararl\u0131, i\u015fini seven, dinamik, yorulmak bilmeyen gen\u00e7 arkada\u015flar aras\u0131ndan belirlenmeli. Kuala Lumpur\u2019daki a\u00e7\u0131l\u0131\u015fa paralel olarak d\u00fczenlenen \u2018konferans\u2019da Tarih B\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc \u00f6\u011fretim \u00fcyesi Do\u00e7. Dr. Hafiz Zakaria, m\u00fcfredat program\u0131 \u00e7er\u00e7evesini \u00e7izen kayda de\u011fer sunumu s\u0131ras\u0131nda T\u00fcrk \u00f6\u011frencilerin \u2018Malaycay\u0131 \u00f6\u011frenmeye yana\u015fmad\u0131klar\u0131\u0131\u2019 y\u00f6n\u00fcnde hakl\u0131 bir ele\u015ftiri getirmi\u015fti. Akabinde s\u0131ra bana geldi\u011finde, bir f\u0131rsat\u0131n\u0131 bulup, nazik\u00e7e, \u015fayet elinizin alt\u0131ndaki T\u00fcrk \u00f6\u011frenciler sizin standartlar\u0131n\u0131za uymuyorsa, o zaman o standartlar\u0131 yerine getirme kapasite ve kabiliyetine sahip olanlar\u0131 se\u00e7melisiniz diyerek bir \u00f6neride bulunmu\u015ftum. Bu \u00f6nerimi burada da tekrarlamak istiyorum. Hem Kuala Lumpur hem de \u0130stanbul\u2019daki merkeze al\u0131nacak adaylar\u0131n \u00e7ok iyi se\u00e7ilmesi gerekiyor. Aksi taktirde, 19. y\u00fczy\u0131l sonundaki manzara ile kar\u015f\u0131la\u015fmam\u0131z i\u00e7ten de\u011fil. Nedir o 19. y\u00fczy\u0131l sonundaki manzara?<\/p>\n<p>Endonezya ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131yla tan\u0131nan Lea E. Williams bir \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131nda<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>, 19. y\u00fczy\u0131l sonlar\u0131nda Hollanda Sava\u015f\u0131 nedeniyle Tak\u0131madalar halklar\u0131n\u0131n Osmanl\u0131\u2019yla temaslar\u0131n\u0131n g\u00f6rece art\u0131\u015f\u0131na de\u011finir. Bu s\u00fcrecin devam\u0131 olarak \u201c\u00e7ok say\u0131da \u00f6\u011frencinin\u201d T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de \u00f6\u011frenim g\u00f6rmek i\u00e7in g\u00f6nderildi\u011fini ileri s\u00fcrer. \u201c\u00c7ok say\u0131da\u201d ifadesine temkinli\u00a0 yakla\u015fmakla birlikte, b\u00f6yle bir s\u00fcrecin ya\u015fand\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcyorum. 2007 y\u0131l\u0131 ba\u015flar\u0131nda Ba\u015fbakanl\u0131k Osmanl\u0131 Ar\u015fivleri\u2019nde yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131m k\u0131sa bir ara\u015ft\u0131rmada ula\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131m listede dokuzu Cava Adas\u0131\u2019ndan, iki A\u00e7e\u2019den olmak \u00fczere on bir \u00f6\u011frencinin \u0130stanbul\u2019da a\u00e7\u0131lan me\u015fhur okula kaydolduklar\u0131 belirtilir. Ancak ne hikmetse ne Williams\u2019\u0131n ne de ar\u015fiv belgeleri -en az\u0131ndan benim ula\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131m kadar\u0131yla- bu \u00f6\u011frencilerin hangi ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131 yapt\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131, memleketlerine d\u00f6nd\u00fckten sonra hangi makam ve mevkiye gelip, iki millet aras\u0131nda \u00fcmmet a\u015fk\u0131na ne t\u00fcrden i\u015flere imza att\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 ortaya koyuyor. \u00d6te yandan, Nurfazilah Yahaya adl\u0131 Singapur vatanda\u015f\u0131 Malay akademisyenin son y\u0131llarda ABD ve \u0130ngiltere\u2019nin \u00f6nde gelen \u00fcniversitelerinde Malay d\u00fcnyas\u0131n\u0131n s\u00f6m\u00fcrge d\u00f6nemine dair d\u00f6kt\u00fcrd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc ve bir b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc \u0130ngiltere\u2019nin Batavya B\u00fcy\u00fckel\u00e7ili\u011fi kaynaklar\u0131na dayand\u0131rarak aktard\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u2018incilerden\u2019 de anla\u015f\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u00fczere, Osmanl\u0131 topraklar\u0131na okumaya gelenlerin kahir ekseriyeti Yemen-Hadramut mahallinden Tak\u0131madalar\u2019a yolu d\u00fc\u015fm\u00fc\u015f olan t\u00fccccar ve bir k\u0131sm\u0131 \u2018Seyyid\u2019 kabul edilen Arap ailelerin \u00e7ocuklar\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>Bu \u00e7er\u00e7evede, Malay \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131nda hangi safhalar\u0131n ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirildi\u011fine bakmakta fayda var.
